The texture on the roof, is that a bump map or a displacement map? Either way it looks really, really nice.

GA! I thought I commented on this!!! oh wow! this is really nice. you know if you use a bumpmap then the little hay roof will look even more cool! what is body paint? I never heard of that one before.

well its really nice esp the depth of feel you created!

but 1 thing you should take note of is the shadow of the trees. looks a tad pixelated. just a thought. (:

How much does it cost?

:iconhoschie:
hoschie Featured By Owner Nov 28, 2008  Professional Filmographer
MAYA: 2500 - 8000 € (800€ yearly for actual Versions)
C4D: 800 - 3500 € (~ 300 € yearly for actual Versions)
Photoshop: 1000 - 1600 € (~ 300 € yearly for actual Versions)

But free software like Blender (3d) and Gimp (2d) has nearly the same functions.

Wow this is amazing! Alice in Wonderland is my fav film of all time, I'm in love and soooo jealous you can use 3D modelling software. hehe
Is it hard to get used to? Maya.
Well done this is absolutely amazing! I'd love to see the interior, especially the rabbit's bedroom with the eat me's in the bowl!! hehe XX

Yes it is hard to learn complex software like Maya.
A lot of friends of me used cinema 4d and they say it is more easy to learn.
I don't built the interior at this time.
In my scraps you can see a WIP Version of this picture :-)

The house, fence, and wall all look like real plastic constructions, and the different style and focal blur on the trees adds a lot of depth. I wish I could afford a real version of Maya (or justify spending the money anyway). You make it look fun to use.

You can use a free Software like Blender.
The professionally between Maya and Blender melting down from Version to Version....

Well, based on what you have said, I went back to Blender. I am learning. It'll be a long time before I can even do anything I would want to post up here though.
