Ten sided cubes by hoschie Ten sided cubes by hoschie
A still from my new intro timer (I have no clue for a good english word for that maybe there is someone out there who could help me...) =D It was a lot of work to render it but finally it is done :boogie:
It is a counter in which a lot of cubes count to ten. I would be happy about some constructive critique :nod: and it would be gorgeous if you could take a look on my finished version on youtube: [link]
Sadly the quality is really poor I know...

I prepared two versions with a different timing and I would like to know which one you prefer!

The animation in a better (SD) Quality: [link]

i like how the second version seems more mechanical.
i think it would be cool if you made it black and white and used it as the countdown to a film, like how you always see that 4 second clip before a reel plays.

Amazing. :'D Stuff like this is kind of overlooked, huh? :[ But man that would take FOREVER. xAx

I'm... indecisive, so I'm not sure which one I like better. ^^;

I guess.. the first one. : D

actually....there was no change in speed, i take that back. I still prefer the first one. Also nice incorporation of the filled in circles. ^_^

technically it would be called a "countdown" since it's a sequence of numbers leading to an event or display. "Timer" is okay, so is "counter".

It depends on what you want the viewer to experience to determine the version that fits best. The first one I liked the best because the color and movement changed quickly like a timer would and also because of the more sporadic movement. The second one was much slower and allowed me to see the repeating pattern of the block's movement. I feel like that takes away from the animation when it becomes repetitive and predictable, especially with the random movement of the smaller blocks.
