Description

A little information about this picture:
It started as a little "doodle" in this picture. Then it became a little concept but I had so much fun doing that I added more and more little details and I thought by myself that it would be a pity not to upload it here.
To be honest I would like to have a higher reality-factor at this picture but at the moment I'm not good enough for that. I do practice a lot to reach my aim someday in the future and if you are interested in my "development" you are invited to take a look at my digital sketchbook on tumblr [link] where you can find nearly all the things which are running through my head.

Hey, to keep working on improving is a very noble goal. Keep at it and you won't be let down.
I've never seen a tentacle huntress before and was quite surprised and impressed to see you put her in an arctic background. What more, it seems to be the tentacle of a behemoth of a creature, which makes this far more powerful than if she was standing on a whole collection of thinner, phallic shaped ones.
Your technique remains a bit sketchy and, with the model, this poses a problem. Keep working on it and this will improve. But, in the meantime, you might want to take some of your sketching artwork and bring it into the model, so as to smooth over the whole picture.
Colors are bright and eye-catching, and yet fitting for the subject (a disembodied tentacle). She might almost be too well centered, though I think all the blood spilling off to the left side of the picture helps out a lot. And her outfit goes well with the washed out, white background you have going there.
All in all, a very fun piece of work. I think you got your vision and impact out there for us to enjoy. Keep at it!
